Company News Expansion Project 2010
Expansion Project 2010

Cotton Traders is proud to announce that we have purchased the building adjacent to us and are currently completing a project to expand our production facilities into it.

The new plot is/was underutilised and so our project steps include clearing and leveling the empty area (70% of the plot), laying foundations for the roof-supporting steelwork, installing the steelwork to support the roof (14m high!) and walls and then lastly roofing the plot and laying the slab.

This new building will give us some additional (and much-needed!) space (about 2100 sqm), bringing our total coverage in Brackenfell, Cape Town to 6600 sqm. The building will be used to house our new, high-quality specialised feather machinery, including our 14m high sorting machines.

New Premises - February 2010
The roof incorporates a section with an area 500 sqm raised to just over 14m high to accommodate our new feather sorting machinery.

New Premises - April 2010
We will shortly be ready to secure the building and begin the expansion of our production into the new area and are looking forward to this increased capacity.

Update (May 2010): We're done! The building is complete. There are a few odds and ends still being attended to but Cotton Traders is now ready to move in and utilise the extra 2100 sqm.
